1. PURPOSE
Training Division ensures all personnel understand department policy, patrol procedure, radio traffic, report writing, use of force, arrest standards, and realistic roleplay.
2. ACADEMY STRUCTURE
Academy topics shall include:
A. Department mission.
B. Chain of command.
C. Radio use.
D. 10-codes.
E. 900-codes.
F. Penal code basics.
G. Traffic stops.
H. Felony stops.
I. Use of force.
J. Arrest procedures.
K. Report writing.
L. Pursuits.
M. Discord clock-in rules.
N. Server rules.
3. FTO PHASE 1 - OBSERVATION
The trainee rides with an FTO and observes:
A. Radio traffic.
B. Traffic stops.
C. Call handling.
D. Scene safety.
E. Report structure.
F. Civilian interaction.
4. FTO PHASE 2 - GUIDED PERFORMANCE
The trainee begins handling calls with coaching. The FTO evaluates:
A. Officer safety.
B. Communication.
C. Probable cause.
D. Arrest decisions.
E. Radio discipline.
F. Driving.
G. Report detail.
5. FINAL EVALUATION
The trainee operates with minimal help. Passing requires:
A. Safe patrol behavior.
B. Policy knowledge.
C. Professional RP.
D. Proper reports.
E. Proper radio use.
F. Good judgment.
6. REMEDIAL TRAINING
Remedial training may be assigned for:
A. Poor report writing.
B. Unsafe driving.

G. Repeated code mistakes.
7. STRIKE SYSTEM
Training strikes may be issued for minor violations. Repeated strikes may lead to removal, suspension, or restart of training.
8. RIDE-ALONGS
Ride-alongs must follow deputy instructions. They may not interfere, carry unauthorized weapons, or act as sworn deputies unless approved by training staff.
9. SCENARIO TRAINING
Scenario training may include:
A. Traffic stops.
B. Domestic calls.
C. Robbery response.
D. Pursuits.
E. Shots fired.
F. Officer down.
G. Barricade response.
H. Report writing.
